ATHOL – Marion A. (Cullen) Smith, 91 of 416 Main Street, Athol, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at home.
She was born in Orange, on June 19, 1921, the daughter of the late Arlington C. and the late Rena M. (Lincoln) Cullen.
She grew up in Athol, and graduated from Athol High School in 1939. She worked for Athol Daily News for four years, and U.T.D. for two years. She worked for L.S. Starrett as a machine operator for 14 years. She moved to Rhode Island for six years and worked as a machine operator and in the office of Browne and Sharpe in Providence, RI. She lived in Florida for thirty years, and worked for 14 years in Haileah Moose Lodge. She was a member Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church in Athol, and also a member of Women's Auxiliary of Church, and Athol Golden Agers.
She leaves a sister, Patricia Quinn of New Hampshire; sister-in-law: Irene Cullen of Athol; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester W. Smith; by two sisters, Barbara Klein, Marjorie Delaney and by four brothers, Al Cullen, Donald Cullen, Richard Cullen and Roger Cullen.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, Hillside Terrace, Athol.
There are no calling hours.
