Marion O. Sund

Marion Sund, affectionately known as Min, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 104 at Leominster Crossing Assisted Living. Born on March 7, 1920, in Jaffrey, NH, she was the daughter of Olive and Thomas Brooks. Min was predeceased by her husband John Sund Sr. of 68 years and lived for over 60 years in Westminster, MA. She was also predeceased by her sister Beatrice Leger, brothers Arthur and William "Fuller" Brooks and son-in-law Thomas Ranley.

She leaves her son John Sund, Jr. of Oakham, her daughter Jane Ranley of Lunenburg, grandson Robert Ranley of Winthrop, and grandson Marc Ranley, his wife Lauren, and great-granddaughter Charlee Ranley of Norfolk, MA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and countless friends that she made through life.

Min had an amazing sense of humor and warmth that endeared her to all she met. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like bird-watching, gardening, and losing herself in the thrilling mysteries of Agatha Christie novels. She enjoyed writing in diaries, from which she wrote her life history. She loved to take photos of family, and places that she visited with her husband. Above all, family was the cornerstone of her world. She cherished phone calls and visits from her loved ones, entertaining them with her many life stories. 

Min's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her children and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. We invite you to share your memories and photos of Marion on her memorial page, to celebrate the beautiful life she led and the joy she brought into our lives.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA.

A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location with a burial at Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
