GARDNER –Marjorie H. (Beauregard) Smith, 95, of Gardner died Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Gardner on December 8, 1917 the daughter of the late Raynald and Lillian (Shurtliff) Beauregard. Marjorie grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1935.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She was a volunteer at the church for many activities. She was active in commuting foster kids and nuns.
Marjorie enjoyed traveling; she traveled to the Caribbean Islands many times. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Rindge, NH. She also enjoyed crocheting, golfing, reading, puzzles, dining out and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She leaves one daughter, Marcia D. Armstrong and husband David of Pittsburg, NH; one son, Ronald A. Smith of Gardner; one sister, Cecelia Carbone of Gardner; daughter in-law Elaine Smith and companion Mike Salame of Gardner; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Smith who died in 1976, by her son James Smith in 1977, by her son Thomas D. Smith in 1981, by her son Richard W. Smith in 1991 and by her son, Peter J. Smith in 1996, by her longtime companion Gordon Carr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the Mack Funeral Home 91 Vernon St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Church 166 Cross St., Gardner, MA 01440.
