TEMPLETON – Marjorie E. (Wheaton) Wictoski 83, of Dudley Road, Templeton died March 19, 2013 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in West Roxbury, MA on June 2, 1929 the daughter of the late Roy W. Wheaton and Esther (Wilkins) Wheaton. She moved to Gardner with her family in 1938 and then to Templeton in the early 1940’s. Marjorie graduated from Templeton High School with the class of 1947.
She worked as a cook at Heywood Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1991. She had previously worked as a teacher’s aide for the Templeton Schools. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church and a former member of St. Vincent De Paul Church. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of Petersham Country Club for many years. For many years Margie was a soloist at the Dollars for Scholars shows at the Narragansett Regional High School. She followed the Red Sox, Celtics and enjoyed the Professional Golf Tour. For many years the family camped at Laurel Lake in Wendell, MA.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, John “Terry†Wictoski; two daughters, Linda Sharron and her husband Guy “Butch†of Gardner; Kathleen Flaminio of Templeton; two granddaughters, Carrie (Sharron) Capell and her husband Justin of Waltham; Kellie Flaminio of Templeton; one grandson, Derek Sharron and his fiancé Lauren Fenzel of Brookline; one great granddaughter, Ava Capell of Waltham; her sister, Dorothy Fischesser and her husband John of Gardner.
She was predeceased by her brother Richard Wheaton of Carthage, NY and by a nephew, Matthew Fischesser of Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440 or to the American Cancer Society – New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
