ATHOL - Mark A. Morse, 63 of 34 Sunrise Terrace, Athol, died Sunday, February 17, 2019 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester.
He was born in Gardner on October 19, 1955, the son of the late Bayard and the late Elsie (Erickson) Morse.
Mark grew up in Templeton and graduated from Naragansett High School with the Class of 1973.
He owned and operated Morse Electric Motors in Gardner for 39 years. Mark was a member of the PACC, Ridgely Club, Athol Lodge of Masons, Antique Fan Club, and the Harley's Owners Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, most recently to visit his son Christopher and wife Jessica in California. He was a train enthusiast and a history buff, and enjoyed camping and taking rides with his children to explore and shop for antiques. He also enjoyed coin collecting, metal detecting, and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox.
He leaves his wife of 16 years, Judy (Hamel) Morse; one daughter, Ashley Livi and her husband D.J. of Royalston; three sons, Clayton Morse and his wife Kerry of Templeton, Christopher Morse of Orange, Christopher Whittier - whom he raised as his own - and his wife Jessica of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Glenna Lehtonen and her husband Brad of Templeton, Janice Fadden and her husband Barry of Templeton, Susan Nobrega and her husband Mike of Otter River; two brothers, Barry Morse and his companion Barbara of Baldwinville, Eric Morse of Athol; five grandchildren, Taron, Hunter, Gabriel, Atreyu, Ty; his best bud - his dog, Quintus James, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 10:30 am in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
