ATHOL - Mary J. Colo, 79, formerly of 2 Morton Meadows died Thursday, September 14, 2006 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
She was born in Athol on February 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Angelo F. and the late Margaret R. (Calcari) Colo, who both had come to America in the early 1920's.
Mary had lived in only two homes in Athol most of her life, at the original home of her parents on 283 Cottage Street, and more recently at 2 Morton Meadows.
She was an active church participant at both the St. Francis of Assisi Church and Our Lady Immaculate Church.
She loved the many care individuals at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare who give so generously of themselves to all the residents as they had given to her.
She leaves two brothers, Angelo "Vic" Colo and his wife, Virginia and H. Thomas Colo and his wife, Marie both of Athol; two nieces, Christina (Colo) Hunt of Orange, Andrea (Colo) Plaskiewicz of North Carolina, and a nephew, Christopher Colo of Athol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
Calling hours will be held Monday, September 18, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol.
