Mary L. (Gleason) Cook, 73, died Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare after an illness.
She was the wife of the late Douglas B, "Cookie" Cook, who died in 2008.
She leaves four godchildren, Timothy King, Terry Brodeur, Tommy King, and Jenika King; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She is predeceased by three brothers, Theodore Gleason, Earl Gleason, and Morris Gleason, and two sisters, Patricia Murcell and Priscilla Blakie.
She was born in Barton, Vermont on August 20, 1946, to Wallace C. and Bernie (Thibeault) Gleason.
Mary moved from Vermont in 1955 to the Athol/Orange area and has been here ever since. She attended Athol and Orange Schools. She worked for N.D. Cass for several years, Athol Research Co. and Friendly Home Toy dealer. She is a former member of the Wheelerville Community Club. Mary enjoyed traveling, doing crafts, reading, and puzzles. She especially enjoyed taking rides to Lake Mattawa. She was also a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA
Calling Hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Fielding Way, Athol, MA
