Mary S (Dagelis) Reilly

Gardner- Mary S. (Dagelis) Reilly, 99, of Gardner, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home with her brother and niece at her side. Mary was born in Gardner, MA on June 10, 1913 to the late Charles Dagelis and the late Amelia (Kulvete) Dagelis. She attended Gardner Schools and then cared for her siblings at a very young age. She later worked as a waitress at Stanley’s Lunch in Gardner for many years. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and would walk to church every day until she was no longer able to do so. Her faith and family was very important to her and she was also known to be a very generous person to whom ever she came into contact with. Mary belonged to the Lithuanian Outing Association for many years, she also enjoyed organizing parties of all types, traveling, cooking, and crocheting. Mary leaves behind her brother Stanley Dagelis of Gardner, and her sister Jadwiga Engman of Westminster, a special niece, Donna Courtamanche and her husband Randy of Templeton, nieces Eileen Aiken and her husband Bruce of Florida, Shirley Engman of New York, nephews Carl Engman and his wife Sarah of Florida, and Glen Engman and his wife Paula of Revere, and three step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William Reilly who died in 1970, and her sister Helen Adams. The family would like to thank the staff at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home for their loving care and kindness during Mary's Stay Calling hours will be held from Poliks Funeral Home 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner on Sunday December 30, 2012 from 1:00pm – 3:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:30am in St. Joseph’s Church, 358 Pleasant Street, Gardner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church 358 Pleasant Street Gardner, MA 01440 or to Wachusett Manor Nursing Home Activities Fund, 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, MA 01440 or may be left at the funeral home.
