FITCHBURG - Mary J. (Danforth) Gonynor, 76, of 44 Keystone Drive, Leominster, and formerly of Fitchburg, died on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster.
She was born in Nashua, NH, on April 13, 1934, the daughter of the late William and the late Margaret (Gardner) Danforth.
Mary was raised and educated in Pepperell and moved to Gardner several years ago. She worked for Foster Grants many years ago and was a homemaker for most of her life. Mary enjoyed playing bingo in the Fitchburg area and also cooking. She especially enjoyed daytrips and visits to the beach with Eddy.
She leaves her children, Donna (Jurgelewicz) Duffy of Gardner; Johnny, Debra and Joanne Lovejoy; two grandchildren, Jason Bisceglia, Brianna Bisceglia of Gardner; a step-grandson, Bradley Duffy of Gardner; and a nephew, Bobby Treagy.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold F. Lovejoy, and by her second husband, Edward Gonynor; also by her companion of many years, John Jurgelewicz; by two sisters, Ruth Danforth and Helen Treagy; and by two brothers, Robert Danforth and Richard Danforth.
Calling hours will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner.
A private burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner, will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
