Mary Ann Harris, an adventurous and loving spirit, passed away on June 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and thoughtfulness that touched the lives of all who knew her. Born in Chelsea, MA on May 24, 1952, Mary was the embodiment of vitality, infusing every moment with joy and a sense of purpose. Throughout her life, she embraced every challenge with a radiant smile and unparalleled determination, offering a beacon of hope and strength to those around her.
Mary's life was a testament to her adventurous spirit. As a waitress in a local restaurant, she served up not only delicious meals but also generous helpings of warmth and compassion to her patrons. In her retirement, she pursued her passion for gardening, skiing, and biking with the same vigor she applied to her work. Mary's love for quilting in her younger days attests to her thoughtful nature, crafting pieces that were not just warm but filled with love. She was a woman of action, always on the move, always seeking to make the most of every day.
Mary's loving heart extended to her family, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly McGuirk (Robert) and Lisa Meuse (Jason); her sisters, Helen Florentino and Edna Walsh; her grandchildren, Michael McGuirk, Kelsey Meuse, and Austin Meuse; and her great-grandchildren, Sierra McGuirk, Paxton Turner, and Beckett Turner. She also leaves behind her ex-husband, William Harris. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Ankiewicz (Sinnott); her siblings, Stanley Ankiewicz, Eileen Dolan, and Jeannie Ankiewicz; and her grandson, Jacob Lovato.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 10:00am at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home,110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, MA
