Mary A. Krymowski

GARDNER - Mary A. (Sawicki) Krymowski, 90, of Bonita Springs, Florida, and formerly of Gardner died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Ohio Valley General Hospital in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania after a brief illness. Mary was born in Phillipston on December 5, 1920, the daughter of the late Adam and the late Rozalia (Swienkowski) Sawicki. She was raised in Otter River and graduated from Templeton High School with the class of 1938. Mrs. Krymowski was a longtime resident of Gardner and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She began working for the City of Gardner in the Auditor's Department in 1956 and retired in 1986 after serving eighteen years as City Auditor. Mrs. Krymowski enjoyed reading, crafts, traveling and golfing in recent years. She leaves her daughter, Virginia A. Goeke and her husband Leonard of Bonita Springs, Florida; her son, Dr. David V. Krymowski of Coraopolis, PA; three brothers, Walter Sawicki and his wife Anne of Gardner, Joseph Sawicki of Gardner, Chester Sawicki of Otter River; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of thirty-two years, Victor Krymowski, in 1974; also by her son, James V. Krymowski, in 2005; by two brothers, Alexander Sawicki and Stanley Sawicki; by two sisters, Tessie Ducharme and Johanna Hetnik. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant Street, Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Alvin A.
