Mary H (Laprade)(Chicoine)Dorsey

GARDNER- Mary H. (Laprade)(Chicoine) Dorsey, age 77, of 172 Blanchard St., Gardner, MA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. She was born in Gardner, MA on July 31, 1939, daughter of the late Albert P. and the late Ida C. (Hickey) Laprade. A 1956 graduate of Gardner High School, she was employed as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement from Bachelders Automotive Dist. in 2000 due to poor health. Mary Dorsey was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, live theater, reading, flower gardening and family gatherings. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Colleen Janssens and her husband Barry of Templeton, Monique Akey and her husband Terry of Athol; two sons: Alan Chicoine of Phillipston, Leo Chicoine and his wife Kate of Athol; eight grandchildren: Amanda and Sarah Janssens, Nathan and Ethan Akey, Olivia and Alexa Chicoine; Kathryn and Elizabeth Chicoine; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband: Donald Chicoine and her second husband: Edgar “Tom” Dorsey; three brothers: Donald, Paul and Thomas Laprade; one sister: Joanne Bernard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. A Calling Hour will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Lamoureux Fletcher Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, MA.
