Mary G. LeBlanc

ATHOL - Mary G. (Gionet) LeBlanc, 90 of Athol, died Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Athol Hospital, Athol. She was born in Caraquet, Canada, on April 19, 1932, the daughter of the late Joseph H. Gionet and the late Agnes (Gionet) Gionet. Mary grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1950. She received her Associates Degree from Mount Wachusett Community College in 1977. Mary worked at former Union Twist Drill for many years. She also worked at Worcester City Hospital and was a medical secretary for Dr. Metzmaker. She was a devoted member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, a member of the St. Anne Women's League, a Eucharistic Minister and often brought communion to the sick. She was a member of the YMCA Silver Sneakers, attended mass daily, and volunteered at many of the church fairs and activities. She especially enjoyed time with her family and friends. She leaves two daughters, Denise Hereth and her husband Bill Hereth of Orange, Gail Cetto and her husband Tim Cetto of Sterling; one son, Roger LeBlanc of Worcester; two brothers, Dolor Gionet of CT, Albert Gionet of Karen, CT; two sisters, Ann Scata of Connecticut, Jacqueline Chiaradia of Connecticut; six grandchildren, Jen Sawin and her companion Albert O'Lari, Elaine Gauthier and her husband Jason Gauthier, Stephanie Goulet and her husband Billy Goulet, James Cetto and his wife Emily Cetto, Heather Cetto-Smith and her husband Andrew Smith, Deanna Cetto; seven great grandchildren, James D. Cetto III, Ella Cetto, Sayer Smith, Shelby Ponusky, Jacob Knowles, Sadie Gauthier, L.B. Goulette and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Norman LeBlanc, by a daughter, Paula LeBlanc, by a son, Wayne LeBlanc, and by two brothers, Yvonne Gionet, Larry Gionet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. A calling hour will be held Saturday from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331 or to Catholic Relief Services, P.O.
