Mary Ellen Minor

GARDNER - Mary Ellen Minor,80, died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

She was born in Gardner on June 5, 1942, a daughter of the late George Erikson and Alice (Corrigan) Erikson.

Mary grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1960. She was married in England. She was employed as a Clerk at the Greenwood Memorial Swimming Pool for 29 years.  

Mary enjoyed swimming, reading and playing the trombone.  She was very active in local community bands playing in Gardner, Narragansett, Petersham and Montague into her seventies.  She also played the handbells at the First Congregational Church in Gardner.

She leaves two daughters, Melissa Minor, Julia Boudreau both of Gardner; two sons, George Minor and his wife Laurie Oliver of Westford, Michael Minor of Gardner; five grandchildren, Anastasia Boudreau, Rose Oliver-Pestana, Emma Oliver-Minor, Morgan David Minor, and Sean Moran; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Georgia Owen and Sheila Persons.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 7:30 pm in the Mack Family Funeral Home 105 Central Street, Gardner, Massachusetts. Burial will be private.

A calling hour will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, from  6:30 PM to  7:30 PM in the funeral home..

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Mary's memory be made to American Diabetes Association.
