Mary (Lore) Oliva

Mary Oliva, age 94, of Gardner died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Baldwinville Nursing Home of Templeton, MA.  Mary was born April 12, 1920 in Gardner, MA. She is the daughter of the late Carlo and the late Lucy (Vinzi) Lore.  She married Ernest A.Oliva on July 6, 1940.      Mary was a lifelong resident of Gardner.   She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.  She was also a member of the Gardner Chapter 3237 AAPR and Gardner Golden Age Club.   She is survived by two sons: Robert J. Oliva and wife Mary E. of E. Templeton, MA, Lawrence P. Oliva and wife Dianne of Gardner, MA;  three sisters: Louise M. Gallant of Gardner, MA, Sophia L. Melanson of Gardner, MA, and Francis N. Horrigan of Gardner, MA and one brother: Michael W. Lore of Gardner, MA; She also has five grandchildren; granddaughter, Laurie Wiita and husband William; granddaughter, Christine Kumar; grandson, Robert Oliva and wife Sandra; Grandson, Michael Oliva; granddaughter, Michelle Oliva; and 8 great-grandchildren. Mary is predeceased by her husband Ernest A. Oliva and her youngest son Stephen Oliva. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, September 13 at Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner, MA.  Burial will follow  in St. John Cemetery, Gardner.
