GARDNER-Mary J. Plant, 93, of Gardner, died Saturday, October 18, at the Highlands, after an illness.
She was born June 16, 1921, in Montague, MA, daughter of the late Martin and Julia (Filora) Russo. Mary grew up in Greenfield, MA, graduating from Greenfield High School. She moved to Gardner in 1954. Mary worked in the cafeteria at Elm Street School and Gardner High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She leaves her son, Robert M. Plant and his wife, Karen of Gardner; three daughters, Rose Marie Landry and her husband, Frank of Leominster, Judith Chapin and her husband, Steven of San Diego, CA, and Cheryle Ouellette and her husband, Francis of Templeton; eight grandchildren, Jason Sharron, Charlene Moran, Robbie Blanchard, Kelli Chiavelli, Joshua Plant, Sarah Plant, Christopher Landry, and Kristen Fortin; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert H. Plant, and her seven siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 30, at 10:00 AM, at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
