GARDNER – Mary Elizabeth Sauvageau, 55, of 27 Sunset Road, Gardner died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the UMass Medical Center, Belmont St., Worcester. She was born in Ayer, MA on March 11, 1958 the daughter of Ralph Sumblin and Esther (McGrath) Prevatt. She graduated from high school in Alaska.  Mary was a resident of Gardner for the past 17 years.  She worked for the Gardner School Department for many years and for the past two years she worked as a paraprofessional.   Mary enjoyed cooking, cleaning her house and taking care of her family. She dedicated herself to her family and friends. She leaves her husband of 13 years, Philip Sauvageau; two daughters, Jill Sauvageau of Gardner, Rebecca Griffin of Gardner; three sons, Jeffrey Sauvageau of Spencer, Jason Sauvageau of East Brookfield, Jared Sauvageau of Spencer;; two brothers, Ralph Sumblin of Templeton, John Prevatt of North Carolina; four sisters, Ann Bergeron of South Carolina, Debra Whitman of Templeton, Sandra Sumblin-Roy of Worcester, Nancy Mann of Templeton; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Mack Funeral Home 91 Vernon St., Gardner.  At Mary’s request there will be no formal funeral service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In  lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Mary’s memory to the Gardner High School Athletic Department 200 Catherine St., Gardner, MA 01440 to help defray the cost of sports fees.
