ATHOL - Mary Lillian (Batutis) White, 87 of Athol, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.   Mary was born in Erving on October 16, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Dame A. (Balcuis) Batutis. She was raised and educated in Erving and has been a resident of Athol for over seventy years.    Many years ago, Mrs. White worked as a machine operator at the L.S. Starrett Company for over 30 years until her retirement in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Athol and attended the Perpetual Adoration at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Gardner for over ten years. Mary enjoyed crafts, ceramics, painting and traveling, and especially enjoyed trips to Nova Scotia, California and Florida. She was also a true lover of all creatures great & small from cats, to dogs, squirrels and all animals.    She leaves her husband of sixty-six years, Edward A. White of Athol; her son, Stephen Z. White and his wife Barbara of Otter River; two grandsons, John White and his wife Elizabeth of Baldwinville, Matthew White of Otter River.   She was predeceased by three sisters, Minnie Kacavich, Millie Nicewicz, Sally Gotautas; and by four brothers, Charles Batutis, John Batutis, Peter and Paul Batutis of Lithuania and by two younger siblings of Montague. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. A calling hour will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Athol Animal Control & Shelter 450 Thrower Road, Athol, MA 01331.   For more information or to sign our online guest book please visit www.fiskemurphymack.com.
