Merriam E. (Morrow) Pearce

Merriam E. Pearce Haines City, FL - Merriam E. (Morrow) Pearce, 87, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven.      Merriam was born in Walpole, New Hampshire, April 4, 1925, the daughter of Albert C. and Beatrice A. (Palmer) Morrow.  She grew up in Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1943, and the Gardner School of Nursing in 1946 and for the past 60 years has resided in Florida.      Merriam worked at the Athol Memorial Hospital as a surgical nurse, as well as several hospitals in New Hampshire and Florida. Merriam was also an administrator for several years at nursing homes in Florida and received many citations during her nursing career.  Merriam committed her life to her nursing career and she also enjoyed traveling.      She leaves a son, Albert Porter of Haines City, FL and a brother, Charles H. Morrow of Warwick; nieces and nephews, Laureen Rehberg of Worcester, NY, Theresa Miller of Inverness, FL, Margaret Calcari of Athol, Kathy Provost of Macon, GA, and George Lachowetz of Louisiana.    She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Morrow and a sister, Florence Lachowetz.      A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Silver Lake Cemetery with the Rev.
