Michael E. Pearson

Michael E. Pearson Athol – Michael E. Pearson, 59, of 2070 Old Keene Road, died peacefully at his home on Monday, February 2nd surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with esophageal cancer.      Michael was born August 1, 1955 in Leominster, MA, the son of Elizabeth (Nadeau) Pearson of NC and the late Albert Pearson.  He grew up in Leominster and graduated from Leominster Trade School in 1974 and has resided in Athol since 1983.        He worked for Inland-Rand Whitney in Leominster beginning at age 15 until age 47. He also worked for Universal Windows in Marlborough until he became ill in 2007.        Michael was a life member of the Leominster Sports Club.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking, gardening, carpentry projects and was known as “Mr. fix it”. He also loved watching the Patriots with the Old Keene Road gang.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his daughters, Jennifer and Cayla.  He was known as a special Pupup to his five granddaughters.        He leaves his loving wife of 36 years, Diane (Lucier) Pearson who was his high school sweetheart and they have been together since age 14 and 16. He also leaves two daughters, Jennifer Fessenden and her husband Aaron and Cayla Groeber and her husband Frank; his five precious granddaughters, Ava, Emma, Celsie, Oaklyen and Ariana;  two sisters, Norma-Jean Lucier and her husband Mark and Lisa Louise Senee and her husband Bob. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Lisa Ann Pearson, a brother Joe Pearson and God Father, Edward Nadeau, his longtime friends who he regarded as family Peter and Jeannine LeBlanc and their children, Ryan LeBlanc and Kassi Rodriguez; His mother-in-law, Virginia Lucier whom he had a loving relationship with. He leaves on his wife’s side, Neil and Joyce Lucier, Cindy and Mike Baker and Sharon and Bob Lajoie and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Danny who passed away six days prior to Mike, also of esophageal cancer and his father-in-law, Roger Lucier whom was his hunting buddy      Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Michael’s name may be made to: The Salvation Army, 107 Ridge Ave., Athol, MA  01331 to sponsor a boy’s campership.  A celebration of Mike’s life will be planned in the spring.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
