LEOMINSTER - Miguel A. Quiles Correa, 80 of 106 Water St., Leominster, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at home after an illness.
He was born on August 15, 1929, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Americo and the late Petra (Correa) Quiles and came to the United States many years ago.
He leaves three sons: Miguel A. Quiles Jr. and wife Beverly of Leominster, Elmo Quiles and Angel Louis Quiles both of Leominster; one daughter: Aris Mieres of Leominster, six brothers, including a special brother William Cruz of Florida; three sisters; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His wife of 34 years, Higinia Perez, died in 1989.
Mr. Quiles Correa was a Korean War US Army Veteran. He entered the service April 8, 1952 and was discharged April 8, 1954. While in the service he received the National Defense Service Medal.
He was employed at Leominster area plastics shops. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Calling hours are Wednesday evening September 2, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Burial will be on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
