AYER - Mildred M. (Soderman) Korbuszewski, 87, formerly of Gardner, died on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Apple Valley Center Nursing Home in Ayer.
Mildred was born in Gardner on April 17, 1924, the daughter of John and Matilda (Ahl) Soderman. She was raised and educated in Gardner and resided in Fitchburg for twelve years before returning to Gardner several years ago.
Mrs. Korbuszewski worked for Gem Industries for over twenty years until her retirement in 1976. She was a religious woman and decorating cakes and cooking. Mildred was a fun person to be around and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She leaves her daughter, Helena Mika and her husband Richard of Springlake, NC; four grandchildren, Kathleen Leonard of Townsend, Duane Mika, Monique Woods both of Springlake, NC, Serena Mika of Raleigh, NC; four great grandsons, Kenneth Leonard of Townsend, Donovan Smith, Tristan Woods, Justin Woods all of Springlake, NC; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Leonard of Townsend, Tom Greene of Bellingham, WA; also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Adam M. Korbuszewski, on November 19, 1999; by two daughters, Joan Leonard on October 6, 2009, Darlene Korbuszewski in June of 2011; by her sister, Ellen Lebreck; and by four brothers, Axel Soderman, Felix Soderman, Paul Soderman, Eddie Soderman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Gardner.
A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 21, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
