Milton W. Chapin

ATHOL - Milton W. Chapin, 84 of 323 Fairview Ave., Athol, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at home. He was born in Athol, MA, on December 29, 1922, the son of Earl W. and Izzetta (Woodard) Chapin. He was a graduate of Athol High School and was a Navy Veteran having served during World War II in the South Pacific. In 1962 he opened the Cape Cod Half House Restaurant in West Harwich, Cape Cod with his partners Robert & Gwen Howes. They operated the restaurant from 1962 -1995. After retiring, he divided his time between Athol and his winter home in Largo, Florida. He was a talented artist and studied under several renown artsists in Rockport, Ma. Milton is survived by his cousins Chester and Pat Chapin, 13 nephews and nieces, his partner of 45 years and countless friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
