Monique M. Wise
Phillipston – Monique Marie (Smith) Wise, 49, of Athol Road, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Monique was born in Athol, MA, April 6, 1965, grew up in Petersham, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in 1983 and resided in Phillipston most of her life.
She owned and operated Cat in The Shack Soaps for several years. Monique and her friend Kim Pratt organized and operated the annual vendor fair for the town of Athol with all profits being donated to charity. She was a very caring and giving person always willing to help others. She was a member of NRA and was an avid shooter.
She leaves her husband of 17 years, John G. Wise; her mother, Carole Lackey of Daytona Beach, FL; her father Norman Smith and his wife Louise of Petersham a step-son, Asa Wise of Worcester; aunts and uncles, Geraldine Bastion of West Yarmouth, Paul & Vickie Smith of Lunenburg, Ticia and Luke Lussier of New Salem, Barbara and Thomas Jordon of Hopedale and Charlene Costa of Athol, many cousins and her best friend Kim Pratt of Athol.
A celebration of Monique’s life will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol with the Rev. Stephanie Flynn, pastor of the Phillipston Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow at South Cemetery in Orange and in lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in Monique’s memory to a charity of donor’s choice. For
