LEOMINSTER- Nancy “Butchie” (Laviolette) Hertach, 77, of Leominster, died Wednesday, January 10, at Life Care Center, after an illness.
Nancy was born December 8, 1940, in Leominster, daughter of the late Leon and Doris (McGinnis) Laviolette. After her mother’s passing, Leon married the late Pearl (Staples) who was an integral part of raising Nancy.
Nancy worked at ESP Lock Company before her retirement. She loved people and socializing whether it was going out for lunch at the Il Camino or the former Lidio’s, now the Gazbar, going to the casino, or getting her hair done. “Fancy Nancy” will be remembered for her quick wit.
Her husband, Paul Hertach, died in 1989. She was also predeceased by her brother, Jack Laviolette, and her sister, Sylvia Bouchard.
She leaves three daughters, Donna LeBlanc and her companion, Russell Robidoux, Karen Cormier and her companion, Tinker Stewart, and Sharon Cormier Kendall; two step children, Sherry Bourgeois and Paul “Rusty” Hertach; two grandchildren, Cameron Kendall and Samantha Gilmartin and her husband, Kevin; two step grandchildren, Krystal Touchette and her husband, Brad, and Paul Bourgeois; two brothers, Mark Laviolette and his wife, Nicole, and Paul Laviolette; one sister, Jean Flint and her husband, Bruce; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 20, at 9:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
