In loving memory of Nancy A. Murphy, who passed away on December 7, 2024, a few months after her 94th birthday. Nancy was born in Athol, MA on October 7, 1930, to Perley and Agnes Miller. Known for her funny and loving nature, she graduated from Athol High School with the Class of 1948 and made a successful career as an Assembler at the L.S. Starrett Company, where she tirelessly served for many years before her retirement.
Nancy was a thoughtful and compassionate woman who loved her family above all else. She found great joy in the everyday activities that brought her family together. Her hobbies included bird watching, gardening, and sitting by her pool. She had an affinity for the Red Sox and the color purple and enjoyed the thrill of scratch tickets. As a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, her faith was a constant source of strength and comfort.
Nancy's loving memory will be cherished by her children: Susan Page, Patrick Murphy and wife Susan, Kathleen Praplaski and husband Butch, and Timothy Murphy. Nancy cherished spending time with her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Murphy, her parents, Perley and Agnes Miller, her sons Michael and Daniel Murphy, her brother Thomas Miller, and her sister Margaret Kelleher.
In the last few years of her life, Nancy was lovingly cared for at Baldwinville Nursing Home, where she formed special bonds with the staff and fellow residents who brought her comfort.
Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the lives she touched.
The family invites you to celebrate Nancy's life on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, a visitation will be held from 10 - 11 am followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 am, in Mack Family Funeral Homes Athol-Orange Chapel, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol
