It is with profound sadness and immense love that we bid farewell to a beacon of light in our lives, Nancy Jean Smith, who passed on July 6, 2024. Born on June 10, 1956, in Marlborough, MA, Nancy was a woman of immense compassion, generosity, and humility. Her vibrant presence, warmed by her favorite color yellow, was a testament to her loving nature.
Nancy was an exceptional woman whose life was marked by extraordinary achievements. After a fulfilling career of 18 years with the IRS in Andover, MA, she retired in 2020, leaving a legacy of integrity and diligence. Prior to her accounting career, Nancy bravely served in the military, a testament to her selfless nature. Her academic endeavors led her to obtain a Bachelor's degree, a milestone she wore with pride. Despite her accomplishments, it was her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother that Nancy cherished the most. Her marriage to Michael Smith on November 22, 1984, blossomed into a beautiful family of three children and seven grandchildren. Nancy's devotion to her family was paramount; always putting everyone above herself, ensuring no one went without, and creating a home that welcomed anyone with open arms.
Nancy is survived by her adoring husband, Michael Smith; her loving children, Michelle (Sylvain) Ramsay, Kathleen (Kenneth) Leighton, and Michael (Katelyn) Smith; her dear siblings, Grace Pascucci and Joseph Jr.; and her brother John Cappello. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Constance Cappello, and her sister, Fina. Each of these individuals were touched by Nancy's boundless love and generosity.
As we navigate through this time of loss, we find solace in the words of Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Nancy's life was a testament to the spirit of these words, and her memory will continue to comfort us.
We invite you to share your precious memories of Nancy and upload photos to her memorial page. As we remember her compassionate, generous, humble, and loving spirit, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she touched.
