ASHBURNHAM - Nancy M. Wallace, 84, of Ashburnham died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at home.
Mrs. Wallace was born December 2, 1932 in North Conway, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Hugh C. and the late Elsie M. (Smith) MacLean.
Nancy grew up in Ashburnham and graduated from Cushing Academy with the class of 1950. She worked for Kings Insurance Agency for many years and also as cafeteria manager at Oakmont High School.
Nancy volunteered at Heywood Hospital for 16 years. She was a member of the Ashburnham Council on Aging, Forever Young Club; 2 Hearts as One Square Dance Club with her husband Robert and enjoyed bowling at the Gardner Ten Pins.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, knitting, reading and word puzzles.
She leaves three sons, Bruce R. Wallace and his wife Judy of Ashburnham; Ronald C. Wallace and his wife Chris of Marlborough, NH; Eric R. Wallace and his wife Lorri of Ashburnham; two sisters, Mary S. Erickson of Florida, Betty A. Bushee of Ashburnham; six grandchildren, Leanne Wallace, Tara Mason, Michael Wallace, Mark Wallace, Jeremy Wallace, Nathan Wallace and five great grandchildren, Jordyn Mason, Tucker Wallace, Gianna LeBlanc, Camden Wallace and Jaxson Wallace.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Robert S. Wallace who died in 1997.
The funeral will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the People's Congregational Church, 56 S. Main St., Ashburnham, MA with Rev. John Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in New Cemetery, Ashburnham.
A calling hour will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. in the People’s Congregational Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Nancy’s memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
