Natalie M. Ferrari, age 77, of Athol died peacefully Thursday, September 18, 2014, with her family by her side. Â Mrs. Ferrari was born June 6, 1937 in Gardner, MA. and was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Pazera) Ambrose. Â She married Gene A. Ferrari in 1961 and they enjoyed 53 years together. Â

Natalie grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1955. Â She worked as a seamstress for Moskowitz Clothing for many years, and sewed and did alterations privately. Â She also worked in Athol school cafeterias and was a deli clerk at Hannaford Grocery Store. Â She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and served on the Parish Council, and also served on the Chuck Stone Little League Board of Directors. Â She enjoyed sewing, cooking, arts and crafts and painting, but above all, she loved and enjoyed being with all her grandchildren and watching their sports and activities.

She is survived by her husband: Gene A. Ferrari , one daughter: Dawn S. Whelpley and her husband Neil of Townsend, MA and four sons: Gene A. Ferrari Jr. and his wife Laurie of Athol, MA, Scott A. Ferrari and his wife Lori of Weston Lakes, TX, Christopher J. Ferrari and his wife Carla of Grayslake, IL, and Mark A. Ferrari of Athol, MA. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Gino Ferrari, Jennifer Ferrari, Nicole Whelpley, Ryan Whelpley, Mark Ferrari, Jr., Rebecca Ferrari and Ava Natalie Ferrari.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, September 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Â Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, September 21 from 3 to 6 PM at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA. 01441.
