Natalie was born September 29, 1929, in Athol, daughter of the late Roy and Elsie (Gray) Trenoweth. She grew up in Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1947. While in high school, Natalie was a majorette in the marching band. She lived in Athol for many years, moving to Las Vegas in the 1990's and returning to Orange in 2000. Since 2014, she has resided with her daughter in Athol.
She worked for the L. S. Starrett Company for 18 years in the graduating room, previously working at the J. F. McElwain Show Company. For many years, Natalie was a telephone operator for the former New England Telephone. She was also a waitress at Pearly's Restaurant, Jimmy's Restaurant and Liggetts Drug Store. She was a former member of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church. She was an avid bingo and poker player, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, senior bus trips, coloring, knitting, animals, music, and dancing. Her sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Her husband of 29 years, Norman B. Russell, died in 1977. She was also predeceased by two sons, Richard and Peter Russell, a granddaughter, Tracey Tepper Molinari, a brother, Roy Trenoweth, a sister, Margaret Meausky, and her companion of 25 years, James Stewart.
She leaves three daughters, Lynn Tepper and her partner, Skip, of Goffstown, NH, Patti Dodge and her husband, Alan, of Athol, and Sharon Russell of Athol; a son, Thomas Russell and his wife, Trish, of Gastonia, NC; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; Jim Stewart's daughter, Bonnie Stewart; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday, January 12, at 2:00 P.M. at Higgins-O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol. Burial will be private
