FITZWILLIAM, NH - Nelson J. Breton, 61, of 369 East Lake Road, Fitzwilliam, NH, and formerly of Gardner, died on Sunday, October 2, 2011at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH, after an illness.
Nelson was born in Gardner on February 21, 1950, the son of the late Nelson J. and Charlotte (Hill) Breton. He was raised in Gardner and attended Gardner schools. In his twenties he moved to Florida then to Texas, where he resided for four years while attending Christian Bible School. Upon his graduation, Mr. Breton returned to Gardner before moving to Athol shortly after marrying his wife, Agnes A. Fanelli. While residing in Athol he worked for the former Athol Table Company for five years and was a member of the Higher Ground Ministries.
In the early 1990's, Nelson and Agnes moved to Fitzwilliam, NH where he worked for the Keene Sentinel's advertising department for ten years. He was a member of the Monadnock Full Gospel in Rindge, NH, and more recently attended weekly services at the Good News Ministries in Athol. He was a talented writer and had written many poems over throughout his life. Nelson was a Bible teacher at each the churches he has attended and enjoyed weekend trips to Maine with his wife.
He leaves his wife of nearly twenty-four years, Agnes A. (Fanelli) Breton; his mother, Charlotte Breton of Gardner; two sisters, Judy Breton of Gardner, Sue Brundage of Gardner; two brothers, Jim Breton of Greenfield, Richard Breton of Haverhill; a step son, Colin Shem Taylor of CT; step grandson, Colin Taylor of CT; also many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Inner Touch Ministries, 138 Colony Road, Gardner. Burial in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be private. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to his wife, Agnes Breton, and sent in care of Inner Touch Ministries, 138 Colony Road, Gardner, MA 01440.
