ASHBURNHAM- Nola A. Delaney, 87, formerly of South Ashburnham, died Friday, October 20, in Quabbin Valley Heath Care after a lengthy illness.
Nola was born August 31, 1930, in Gardner, daughter of the late Charles and Lula (Dorais) Ray. Mrs. Delaney was a member of St. Anne’s Parish in South Ashburnham. Her husband of 58 years, William R. Delaney, passed away in 2009.
She graduated from Cushing Academy and worked providing office support for several local companies, including the Asher Company of Fitchburg.
Nola loved to travel, go camping, skiing and the beach.
She also enjoyed arts and crafts, doll making, silversmithing and painting. She was always excited to learn something new and up for an adventure.
Most of all Nola was a happy, kind hearted person who was dedicated to her family and was happiest when spending time with them.
She leaves a son, William Delaney and his wife, Paula of Westborough, MA; two daughters, Joanne Delaney of Fitzwilliam, NH, and Patricia Delaney and her husband, Richard Patnode of Marlborough, NH; two grandchildren, Kate Bailey and her husband, James, and Cristine Goldman and her husband, Benjamin; three great grandchildren, Kayla, Andrew, and Connor Bailey.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 28, at 10:00AM in St. Denis Church, 85 Main St., Ashburnham. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fitchburg.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
