PHILLIPSTON - Nola S. Shepardson, 57 of 170 Blake Corner Road, Phillipston, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Athol, on January 1, 1955, the daughter of the late Daniel Shepardson and Esther (Wheeler) Shepardson. Nola grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School.
She and her mother started Shepardson's Garden in 1985, Nola continued to grow and operate the business over the past 27 years. She also worked at the Red Apple Farm and at the former Fox Run Restaurant.
She enjoyed hiking with her dog Maggie, spending time at the ocean collecting shells and being with her family.
She leaves her husband of 33 years, John C. Telepciak; one daughter, Josie Telepciak of Phillipston; three sons, Jake Telepciak and his wife Toni of Leominster, Dax Telepciak of Gardner, Alex Telepciak of Boston, and a granddaughter, Madison Telepciak of Leominster; her mother, Esther Shepardson; one sister, Judy Howland and her husband Bill of Athol; four brothers, John Shepardson and his wife Carol of NH, David Shepardson and his wife Ginny of NH, Donald Shepardson and his wife Cathy of Orange, Robert Shepardson and his wife Peggy of Athol; a sister in-law, Sharon Shepardson of North Brookfield; her adopted family, Paula Pralinsky of Royalston, Debi Dumas of Los Angeles, CA, and lifelong friends Annie Davenport of Alaska, Phyllis Kory of Los Angeles, CA, Marie Bushey of Westminster, Charlie Chase of Royalston and many more that were a very special part of Nola’s life.
She was predeceased by her father, Daniel Shepardson and by a brother, Dick Shepardson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Phillipston Congregational Church, On the Common, Phillipston. Burial will be private at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 21, 2012, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made in Nola's memory to the Phillipston PTG in care of Cathy Olson, treasurer, Phillipston Memorial School, 20 The Common, Phillipston, MA 01331.
