ATHOL - Norman L. Conway, 86 of 697 Templeton Rd., Athol, died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at home.
He was born in Athol on July 17, 1927, the son of the late Anthony H. and the late Florence (Carlson) Conway.
Norman grew up in Athol and attended Athol Schools graduating with the Class of 1946. He worked as the Circulation Manager for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for many years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Exchange Club. He enjoyed traveling and fishing.
He leaves his longtime companion: Betty DeRosier of Wendell Depot ; two daughters: Doreen Bacon and her husband Harold of Orange, Karlene Robichaud of Haverhill; son-in-law: Michael Robichaud of Athol; four grandchildren: Marcus Bacon and his wife Nicole, Robyn Bacon, Ian Robichaud, Kyle Robichaud-Fuentes and his husband Ryan; two great grandchildren, Avery Bacon and Mikayla Basta; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years: Beverly J. (Gordon) Conway in 1987 and by his sister Cleone Dukeshire.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Silver Lake St., Athol, MA
