Gardner-Norman C. Erickson, 99, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
He was the husband of over 50 years to the late Audrey (Sundberg) Erickson.
Norman leaves one daughter, Sandra Juneau and her husband Jim of Minnesota; two sons, Curtis Erickson and his wife Carol of Phillipston and Jeffrey Erickson and his wife Beverly of Houlton, ME; seven grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his longtime companion Sally Erickson of Ashburnham.
Norman was born in Gardner on January 4, 1923, a son of the late Carl and Florence (Palmer) Erickson. He was a 1941 graduate of Gardner High School and was drafted and served in the US Army as a Sergeant during World War II. When he returned from the war, Norman worked for Heywood Wakefield as a sales representative. After his retirement he worked for Eastern Furniture in Athol.
While he was in High School he was the Captain of the Baseball team, the Basketball team and the Football team, he even played Semi Pro Football in Gardner.
He was a longtime member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Gardner and attended and sang in the choir of the United Parish in Winchendon.
He loved to go to Queen Lake, where he spent a lot of time as a child and eventually built his own cabin there.
Norman’s funeral and burial will be private at the Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner, MA
