Norman F. Savage

Norman F. Savage Framingham – Norman F. Savage, 60, formerly of Athol and Gill, died October 23, 2012 at his home.        Norman was born in Montague City, Massachusetts, April 29, 1952, the son of William F. and Rhea L. (Tatro) Savage.  He grew up in Gill, attending Gill elementary schools and graduated from Pioneer Valley Regional High School.  He later attended Southeastern Mass University (now UMass Dartmouth).   Besides Gill Norman had lived in Dennis, Athol, Maynard, Leominster, Putney, VT and for the last several years in Framingham.      Norman was a four star chef, working all of his life in the restaurant business.  He was a chef at the former Athol Steak House for many years, Country Mischief in Templeton, and was the food and beverage manager of the Colonial Inn in Concord where he still did seasonal decorating.   He loved animals, having had three Samoyed husky dogs and a cat and in his retirement was an avid gardener.      He leaves his two brothers, Raymond L. Savage of Athol, his two daughters, Melissa Ray Fasulo and Erin Elizabeth Smith, and Thomas H. Savage of Greenfield, a cousin, Patricia A. Rogers of East Sandwich, MA along with numerous other cousins and extended family and friends.      A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the South Athol United Methodist Church,   Morgan Ave., South Athol with the Rev. Adam Randazzo, pastor officiating.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Norman’s memory by stopping at any branch of the Greenfield Saving Bank with a donation to the Norman Savage Fund or by mailing it to his brother, Thomas Savage, 380 Davis Street, Greenfield, MA  01331.  Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is directing arrangements.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to:  www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
