EAST TEMPLETON - Normand A. Comeau 82, of 12 Stephen's Way East Templeton, MA, died Saturday, May 26,2007, in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness. He was born September 18,1924 in Leominster MA. the son of the late Frederick D. Comeau and Maria (Maurice)Comeau. He leaves his wife of fifty-six years,Therese Y.(Caron)Comeau of East Templeton; two sons, Frederick J. Comeau of Jacksonville Alabama and Leominster Fire Department Master Mechanic and EMT-David W. Comeau of East Templeton; one daughter, Denise M. Comeau of Sun City Center Florida; three grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Comeau of Jacksonville, Alabama and Nichole J. Comeau of East Templeton; three brothers, Gerald "Jerry" Comeau of Gardner, Robert "Bob" Comeau of Leominster, Joseph "Al" Comeau of Fitchburg; two sisters, Mary Jane Deaner of San Antonio Texas and Rita Nowacki of Andover, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Judith "Judy" A. Comeau of Fitchburg who died in 1987 and by four brothers, Maurice Comeau, Ernest Comeau, Eugene "Gene" Comeau and Joseph "Lou" Comeau. Mr. Comeau was a current member of Sacred Heart Church in Gardner MA. During his childhood he was a member of St Cecilias Church in Leominster and attended St. Cecilia's School. Mr. Comeau was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving in Co. A 18th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman. He entered the service December 27, 1945 and was honorably discharged April 5, 1947. He received the Army Occupation Medal. He was employed as a Mechanic for over forty-five years at E.T Cote and Son in Leominster. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 31,2007, from the M.A Simard & Son Funeral Home 14 Walker St. Leominster with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in St Josephs Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening, May 30,2007, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the Veterans Homestead, 69 High St., Fitchburg, MA 01420 or may be left at the funeral home.
