GARDNER- Olga E. (Yuris) Borkowski, 88, of Gardner, died Tuesday, October 18, at UMass Medical center, surrounded by her family.
She was born November 27, 1927, in Fitchburg, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Vaidulos) Yuris. Mrs. Borkowski was an LPN at the former Gardner State Hospital for several years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church, and the Polish American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, arts and crafts, going to the casino, jigsaw puzzles, soap operas, game shows, watching golf, the Red Sox, and the Patriots but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Her husband, Sigismund Borkowski, and her brother, George Vaidulos predeceased her.
She leaves three sons, James V. Borkowski and his wife, Joanne of Belchertown, Thomas R. Borkowski, and Gary A. Borkowski, both of Gardner; one daughter, Betty A. Borkowski of Gardner; five grandchildren, Andrew Borkowski of Belmont, Anna Borkowski of Somerville, Michael Borkowski of San Diego, CA, Matthew Borkowski of Easton, MD, and Joseph Borkowski of Roslindale.
Funeral services are private under the direction of Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to the charity of one's choice.
