GARDNER - Olga M. Zielinski, 86 of Gardner, formerly of Otter River, died Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner.
She was born in Otter River, MA, on February 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Wladislaw and the late Mary Ann (Brzonska) Zielinski.
She graduated from Templeton High School in 1944. She worked at GEM Crib and the Gardner State Hospital; she retired from the Walter Fernald School.
She was a member of St. Martin's Church in Otter River and a member of the Templeton Golden Age's and the AARP. She enjoyed crafts, trips to Foxwoods and Moheagan, reading, bingo and playing cards. She used to know every restaurant in the area and enjoyed dining out. She collected wind chimes.
She leaves a brother, Edward Zielinski of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister, Helen Nicholas of Gardner; three nieces June Williams of Gardner, Peggy Ann Moffit of Holden, LA, Laura Tompkins of Forestdale; six nephews, Bryan Nicholas of Hatfield, Raymond Nicholas of Greenfield, Michael Nicholas of Gardner, Teddy Zielinski of Claremont, NH, Joey Zielinski of Texas, Greg Poirier of Gardner; many great nieces and nephews, many great great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great niece.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Mieciek Zielinski and Albert Zielinski.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Martin Church 247 State Road, Otter River, MA 01436.
