GARDNER - Omer A. Morin, 96, of 125 Connors Street passed away peacefully Friday June 24th, 2016.
He was born in Montreal, QB, Canada, on April 5, 1920, the son of Frank Morin and the late Elese (Langevin) Morin.
Mr. Morin served in the US Army during WW2 from 1940-1945 as a TEC4, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze service star. He was a self employed construction worker all of his life. He lived in Florida for many years before returning to Massachusetts to reside with his daughter and son in law in Westminster.
He was a loving, kind, humorous, storytelling, proud, honorable man who enjoyed spending his time with our family teaching us all many life lessons.
Mr. Morin leaves his three grandsons and two daughter in-laws: Dennis and Liz LaClair of Rutland, Stephen LaClair of Templeton, John and Angie Canu of Clearwater, FL; four great grand children: Tristen, Mikayla, Makenzie, and Alaina. He also acted as a grandfather and great grandfather to many other extended family members.
He was predeceased by his wife Carmela Delmazzo Morin on Sept 11, 2002, his two daughters: Geraldine Canu, Carolyn LaClair.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Chapel in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glen Allen St, Winchendon, MA.
