GARDNER - Patricia S. (Stephano) Bouthot, 88, of Gardner died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Leominster Crossing in Leominster, MA.
She was born September 2, 1928 in Concord, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Charles K. and Margaret (McMahon) Stephano, and resided in Gardner for most of her life.
Patricia was a 1946 graduate of Gardner High School. Her family owned Priscilla Candy Shoppe since 1954 and she spent many years helping her father during the holidays. As a young woman she worked at Heywood Wakefield in the design department. The creative spirit was always a part of her life; she was an accomplished craftswomen who hand wove baskets, and created elaborate egg dioramas, beautifully painted birdhouses and decorative wreaths that she sold in stores and at fairs throughout New England. Later in life, she also worked at the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Gardner for several years.
Of the many roles she played, the ones she excelled at the most were mother and grandmother. She and her husband were very involved in Gardner Youth Hockey and were instrumental in starting the Gardner High School Hockey Booster Club. For over four decades she attended more hockey games than one could imagine in support of her "heroes". If her children or grandchildren were engaged in a sport there was not a rink, a field or equestrian center that was too far. For her and her husband of 57 years the center of their life has been their undying dedication to their family.
Patricia was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She leaves her husband and best friend Arthur E. Bouthot, two sons, Neal A. Bouthot of Orlando, FL; Charles D. Bouthot and his wife Dr. Beth Bouthot of Boxford, MA; four grandchildren, Jordan A. Bouthot, Connor J. Bouthot, Cameron J. Bouthot, and Whitney E. Bouthot; one sister, Virginia A. Trudel of Gardner, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, C. Charles Stephano and Lawrence P "Bud" Stephano.
