Brookfield- Patricia M. (Hagany) Cote, 73, of Brookfield, MA, formerly of Blackstone, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday August 5th, 2013 following a long illness. She was born on November 13th, 1939, the daughter of the late Francis and Jane (Devlin) Hagany.
Patricia was raised in Blackstone where she attended Blackstone schools and went on to attend Worcester State College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Education. She worked as a substitute teacher at Burncoat Elementary School, Worcester and then worked for the Massachusetts Welfare Department, Worcester retiring in 2000.
Patricia loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was known to her family as a “Diva”, where she enjoyed being fashionable. She was a member of the Tom Brady fan club, enjoyed interior home decorating and arts and crafts. Patricia will always be remembered as a competitive player, whether it was playing scrabble or any other board game with her grandchildren. She didn’t like to lose. She also enjoyed reading and doing cross word puzzles.
Patricia leaves behind her husband of 25 years; Ronald Cote of Brookfield, two sons; David King of Boothwyn, PA, and Patrick King and his wife Donna of Garnet Valley, PA, four sisters; Dottie Bilobeau of Millville, MA, Mary Jane Lee of Blackstone, MA, Ann Eldridge of Blackstone, MA, and Maureen Lucchesi of Florida, four grandchildren; Kelsey, Connor, Sean, Jack, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker Street Leominster, MA on Thursday August 8th, 2013 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Cecilia’s Church 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster on Friday August 9th, 2013 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Leominster.
