Patricia E. Januszkiewicz

Patricia E. Januszkiewicz, 76, of 138 Crestwood Drive, Gardner, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in East Weymouth on October 11, 1937 the daughter of the late Louis and the late Gladys (Phinney) Barbiere. Patricia grew up in East Weymouth and graduated from WeymouthHigh School in 1956. She received her secretarial degree from BayState Academy in Boston. Patricia worked at the Patriot Ledger when she was in college. She went on to work at the Smithsonian Institution Astrophysical Observatory in Cambridge as an executive secretary for the director and on different projects within the observatory. Later, Patricia worked for the Spill Center, an Environmental Law Firm located in Hudson, MAwhere she retired in 1999. Patricia enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening, baking, cooking and being with her family. She leaves her husband of fifty two years, Richard F. Januszkiewicz, one daughter Judith White and her husband Joseph of Gardner, one son Russell E. Januszkiewicz of Templeton, one brother Joseph Barbiere, and his wife Mary of East Weymouth MA, two granddaughters, Jessica Blouin and Michelle Blouin of Gardner. Patricia was predeceased by her sister Lois James of East Weymouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday November 9, 2013 at 10a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street,Gardner. Burial will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery in Gardner. Calling hours will be held on Friday November 8, 2013 from 6 to 8p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street in Gardner. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, New England Division Office, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701.
