Patricia Ann Whelpley, affectionately known as Nan, was a beacon of warmth and care who gracefully touched the lives of many. Born on January 24, 1947, in Athol, MA, Patricia embodied compassion, generosity, and thoughtfulness throughout her life journey.
Patricia's life was a testament to her loving nature and dedication to family. She was married 59 years to her devoted husband, Dennis E. Whelpley, and together they built a family that became her pride and joy.
Nan's love extended beyond her immediate family to numerous others who were fortunate enough to experience her nurturing spirit. She took great pride in her role as Nan to many, often gathering family and friends for memorable occasions. As a bookkeeper for an insurance company, Patricia exhibited the same thoughtful attention to detail that she showed in her personal life. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, and sewing, which she used as another avenue to express her love and provide comfort to those around her. Her love for her dogs was well-known, reflecting her compassionate spirit.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Dennis E. Whelpley, and their two children, Jeffrey Whelpley and Jennifer (John) Arsenault. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, Kayla (Christopher) Thorp, Kullen Wetherby, Ryan Whelpley, Nichlos Whelpley, Jeffrey (Katelyn) Robichaud and great-granddaughter, Madelyn. Patricia's memory will also be cherished by her siblings, Steven Smith, Gary (Fran) Smith, and Kathy (Michael) Girgenti, and their families and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends she held dear.
She now joins in eternal rest her parents, Robert and Nora Smith, her brother Michael Smith, and her sister-in-law Ruth Smith. As we mourn the loss of Patricia, we remember her words, "What matters most is family and friends...and my dogs". Her legacy of love, generosity and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts and memories.
