Patrick Cashman

GARDNER - Patrick H. Cashman, age 74, of 948 Clark Street, Gardner, MA died peacefully at home, after a long fight with throat and lung cancer on Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was born December 17, 1942 in Independence, LA. He is the son of the late Francis and Hilda (Kangas) Cashman. He attended Gardner Schools and he served in the Army Reserve and received an Honorable Discharge. Patrick leaves his wife of 38 years Marianne (Kwasny, Zacharewicz) Cashman. He was a lifetime experienced mechanic and owned and operated Cashman’s Garage for many years. Pat proudly cared for and greatly loved his Siamese cats that gave him peace and happiness. He would tell endless stories about them and show photos to anyone that would listen. He also enjoyed playing Daily Numbers from the Mass Lottery. He is survived by his brother Timothy Cashman , Florida. His son Shawn Cashman and his wife Brenda and Grandson Justin Cashman, Templeton; Daughter Alida Garrett and Fiancé Andrew Stanbarger, Otter River; Grandson Peter Ackley and his wife Carly and Great-grandchildren Emma, Julianna and Connor, Georgia; Granddaughter Lillie Sheldrick and partner Brad Zelny and Great-granddaughter Alexis Zelny, Leominster; Grandson Anthony Garrett and partner Brittany Remilllard, Worcester; Granddaughters Ashley Garrett, Athol and Samantha Garrett, Otter River; Daughter Donna Zacharewicz, Gardner, and Granddaughter Fallon Peterson and partner Edil Lebron and Great-grandson Jayden Lebron , Gardner, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers James and Michael Cashman of Florida; and Daughter Christina Zacharewicz of Gardner; Son-in law Joseph J. Garrett of Otter River and infant Great-grandson Joseph Sheldrick. The family would also like to thank Brandice Denette and the people from The GVNA HealthCare, Inc. Hospice Program for their care and support. Graveside services will be held in Wildwood Cemetery on Friday April 21 at 11 AM.
