GARDNER - Paul S. Tofferi, 87 of 15 Waterford St., Gardner died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at home.
He was born on September 23, 1926 in Gardner the son of Svante and Lillian (Ranta) Tofferi.
He grew up in Gardner and was educated and Gardner.
Mr. Tofferi was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy.
He worked at Heywood Wakefield for many years in the paint shop and in the boiler room. He was a member of the Gardner VFW and the Gardner American Legion.
He enjoyed vegetable gardening, refinishing furniture and was an avid reader, always getting his books from the Heywood Library.
He leaves his wife of 66 years Florence L. (Vesperman) Tofferi, a daughter Linda J. Schmitt and her husband George of Mahopac, NY; three grandchildren, Kimberly Wood, Debra Melendy, David Schmitt; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10 AM in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon.
