ASHBURNHAM - Paula J. "Penny" (Kittredge) Murach, 61, of 41 Winding Cove Road, Ashburnham, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
She was born in Fitchburg on February 12, 1949, the daughter of the late Reginald and the late Jenny (Ptak) Kittredge.
Paula was raised and educated in Fitchburg and attended St. Bernard's High School. Several years ago, she worked as an accountant for the City of Westminster for about five years. She later worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a data transcriber for ten years. More recently, Paula worked for Weetabix in Clinton as an assembler and machinist for five years until her retirement in 2002. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed bowling. Paula will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves two sons, Kenneth R. Barrows and his wife Lori of Ashburnham, Brian D. Barrows and his wife Tammy of Fitchburg; two sisters, Joan Rameau of Jaffrey, NH, Sandra Barrows of Winchendon; three brothers, Wayne Bisson and his wife Ginny of Fitchburg, Kenneth Bisson and his wife Marie, Dennis Bisson and his wife Sandra all of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Amanda Barrows of Fitchburg, Brett Barrows of Ashburnham, Sarina Roberts, Nick Roberts both of Fitchburg; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Jacob, in 1998 and by her brother, Thomas Kittredge on October 8, 2002.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pieta Chapel of St. Joseph's Cemetery, Clarendon Street, Fitchburg.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Attn: Contribution Services, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
