GARDNER- Pauline J. (Blanchette) Horan, 89, of Gardner, died Sunday, April 19, in Wachusett Manor, after an illness.
She was born September 14, 1925, in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Filteau) Blanchette.
Mrs. Horan was an active member of St. Joseph church in Gardner where she was a member of the Church choir and the St. Joseph Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Ladies PASL of Gardner, the Gardner Golden Age Club where she served as a past secretary, the Heritage Village Club, the Silver Sneakers program at Mount Wachusett Community College, and AARP. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, reading, and puzzles.
Her husband, Albert Horan, died February 1, 1981. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Chester Blanchette and one sister, Yvonne Plasse.
She leaves her son, Dwight Horan and his wife, Diane Wright of New Ipswich, NH; her daughter, Deborah Horan and her husband, John McGrath of Mason, NH; her grandson, Travis Horan; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 23, from Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Ashby.
A calling hour will precede the funeral Thursday, April 23, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
