ATHOL - Pauline Caroline (Cameron) (MacKenzie) Davenport, 88, of Athol, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Pauline was born in Athol on August 26, 1922, the daughter of the late William and the late Pauline (Ward) Cameron. She was a life-long resident of Athol, and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1938. Mrs. Davenport loved to learn and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition at UMass Amherst. She worked at the Union 28 School District as their secretary for many years and volunteered for the Athol Public Library. She was an excellent quilter and enjoyed knitting, opera and playing games including sudoku and crossword puzzles.
She leaves three daughters, Elizabeth MacKenzie of Athol, Pauline Kiely and her husband Thomas of Athol, Annie Davenport and her husband Stanley Olshowski of Chugiak, Alaska; sisters-in-law, Arlene Young, Helen Larry, Lyle Kenney all of Athol; two grandchildren; Owen Kiely of CA and Torin Kiely of Orange; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Abner "Fred" Davenport; also by her first husband, Amos MacKenzie; and by five brothers, James Cameron, David Cameron, William Cameron, John Cameron, Owen Cameron.
Graveside services in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be held at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Athol Public Library, 568 Main Street, Athol MA 01331 or to the Athol High School Scholarship Association, P.O. Box 338, Athol, MA 01331.
