Fitchburg-Pauline Mary (Bourgault) Gagne, 89, died Friday, March 10, 2023, at her son-in-law and daughter-in-law's home after an illness.
She was the wife of Raymond Joseph Gagne, who died in 2016.
She leaves one estranged daughter, Michelle Rapp and her husband George of NC; one granddaughter, Madison Chevarie of Athol; one grandson, Lucas Chevarie of Fitchburg; her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, who were also her caregivers, Ron and Wendy Chevarie of Gardner; two longtime best friends, Helen Kelly, and Linda Hertel.
Pauline was born in Fitchburg on October 31, 1933, a daughter of the late George and Eva (Guillemette) Bourgault. She lived in Fitchburg her whole life. She worked for Crocker Burbank Paper Co, Weyerhaeuser Paper Co., and James River Paper Co as a secretary, for over 27 years. She was a member of the Secretarial Club.
She enjoyed roller skating at Whalom Park. She and her friends enjoyed vacationing on Martha's Vinyard for over 25 years, something she looked forward to every year. She so enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends. Pauline was very involved with the figure skating world for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pauline was truly a very special lady.
Everyone is welcome to a graveside service that will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Pauline's name to the American Cancer Society at (donatecancer.org).
